Stuck in a Rut.

Dear Aspen reader,

Have you ever been stuck in a rut? I find that it’s quite easy to arrive at this place of complacency when it comes to fitness routines and meal planning. Sure, the family has their favorite meals. And time is limited for exercise so the same ole same ole seems to be simplest. Or maybe you are in a rut where meal planning doesn’t happen (for whatever reason) and exercise seems to be at the bottom on your list of priorities. Wherever you’re at, it’s time to snap out of it! Shake things up! Start fresh! Because, as I’m sure you’ve heard before, “if you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten.”

Maybe your plan works for you and that’s great! But I know that I’m always looking to switch things up to avoid boredom and fight complacency like it’s an enemy. It’s fun to let yourself become creative in the kitchen or make an attempt at a new mode of fitness.

Let me offer a few suggestions:

  • MEATLESS MONDAY | TRY GOING MEATLESS FOR ONE MEAL.

  • THIRSTY THURSDAY | CREATE A SMOOTHIE FOR BREAKFAST.

  • SELF-CARE SATURDAY | MAKE A NOURISHING BREAKFAST TO GET YOUR WEEKEND STARTED OFF RIGHT.

  • KEEP A FITNESS LOG | TRACK YOUR PROGRESS.

  • FIND A BUDDY | GRAB A FRIEND TO GO FOR A WALK OR JOIN A FITNESS CLASS.

  • FOCUS ON YOUR CORE | ADD A CORE WORKOUT TO YOUR ROUTINE ONCE A WEEK.

Get bold today and try something new with your wellness routine. I promise you’ll get exciting results and will love adding creativity to your routines as you fight for a new, healthier you.

In health,

Alecia
