Getting started
Dear Aspen reader,
Getting started is often the biggest hurdle. Whether it’s a new exercise regimen, an eating plan, business idea or a relationship - the beginning often seems like the hardest part. It takes a lot of planning to begin. Putting your trust in what seems to be new and unknown can often seem a bit scary.
When I started the Aspen Wellness journey my heart held excitement but also a few fears.
What if it’s a flop? What if it SUCCEEDS? How will I manage? How will I keep up with the day to day? And what does this endeavor even look like?
But like I said, amidst the fears there was also excitement in my heart. And my guess is, that if you’re reading this and considering a switch to your wellness routine or a life change (such as a job switch, house move or building a new relationship) there is anticipation in your heart as well. Today I want to encourage you to channel that excitement and turn it into a pattern of hope. Put hope in the fact that you have been given what you need to succeed in life. Sometimes we just have to cultivate it first.
If you’ve got plans and ideas - hopes and dreams - start where you’re at, with what you have in front of you. Maybe you don’t have the necessary money for a new home or a new car but take the first step of faith and write down your goals. Make a plan, starting from point A. Have a passion but not sure how to use it? Begin looking for small opportunities to use the skills you have and keep watching for bigger chances to serve others. Hoping for new friendships? Put yourself out there by, first, reaching out to someone in need and being a friend to him/her. Start where you are and use what you have.
Pretty soon you’ll be on your way to new and exciting experiences.
In health,
