Setting a Wellness Goal
Dear Aspen reader,
As we roll into a new season let me offer a few thoughts in anticipation of the New Year’s Resolutions that I’m sure are running through your head.
Whether you regularly set New Year’s Resolutions or you don’t, this year I’d like to encourage you to set a wellness goal. When I say “wellness goal” I mean a task you can adhere to and one which you can control. I don’t mean: “In 2019 I will lose 10 lbs.” Weight isn’t something that can directly be controlled. But, you can change your eating habits, keep a food diary, exercise more or follow a journal to help you stay accountable; all of which will affect your body weight and help you create healthy habits.
When I say “wellness goal” consider, this year I choose to:
1. Run in an organized race
2. Add more vegetables to my diet
3. Learn a new skill
4. Spend quality time with family
5. Build self-care into my weekly routine
6. Drink more water
Make your resolutions reasonable and maintainable for your lifestyle and you’re sure to be a success. Happy New Year from Aspen Wellness!
In health,
Alecia
