Striking Out.
Dear Aspen reader,
Are you an achiever who is constantly advancing through life with merely the end goal in mind? As a participant in your life, do you seem to have tunnel vision and a telescope; looking onward to the finish line, not giving attention to the joy found in the crossing? It’s only natural that we desire to win the game, earn the promotion or marry the man. But what about the process of getting from point A to point B? Is there purpose in the journey? Most certainly YES.
I am definitely guilty of spending effort and energy pushing ahead into the next phase while ignoring current circumstances. If you’re an avid achiever who is motivated by task completion then you know exactly what I mean. The sadness in this, is that I often miss the beauty of what is happening all around me. In choosing to look to the end of the road, I have a tendency to downplay the pieces of my story that are fitting together in a unique way.
Today I want to challenge you to see your circumstances as a part to a whole. Move forward with the knowledge that all of the pieces in your life are bound to come together to create a beautiful picture if you’ll allow it. And although not every situation seems positive or encouraging, believe that it holds significance in the development of a beautiful story.
In health,
Alecia
